2022 Chenin Blanc
This Chenin Blanc was made in a style akin to Vouvray from the Loire Valley in France. Though Chenin Blanc has been a mainstay for centuries in France, in the U.S. it has fallen in and out of trendy favor. It is a classic variety that deserves reverent attention to the traditions that have made it great. In particular, we embrace the tradition of leaving a slight amount of residual sugar to balance the natural acidity of the grape. This wine has a lovely and unique scent that reminds one of honey, apricots and basil. Growing in the cool climate vineyard of Los Alamos with warm days and cool nights allows the vines to retain their acidity, producing a wine in which the sweetness is well balanced with its natural acidity.
