2009 Petite Sirah
The 30-35 year old Petite Sirah vines, growing on their own roots in our cool Los Alamos Vineyard, are carefully farmed to maximize varietal characteristics that reflect the special terroir of the region. Elegant aromas of blackberry and blueberry jam with baking spices of vanilla and nutmeg abound. This opaque garnet hued Petite Sirah glides across the palate with a lingering silky texture before giving way to intense flavors of berry compote, plum, cocoa, and vanilla bean. Anything but “petite”, this Petite Sirah has rich and muscular tannins with a lasting silky finish.
