Visit the old town of Puerto Vallarta with its mix of red-tiled buildings, cobbled streets, high-end shops, and busy open markets. In Huatulco, Mexico, relax in the warm sun on the sandy beaches of nine beautiful bays rimmed in every shade of blue. Nearby low-growth jungles teem with bird life and endangered sea turtles nest in protected grounds. Enjoy an afternoon in the little country of Guatemala mulling the ancient great stone temples of Tikal that stand in silent testament to ancient Mayan ingenuity. Explore Puerto Corinto, a small town on the northwest coast of Nicaragua, the land of volcanoes...and rum! Hike in the Costa Rican rainforest where life teems with colors as vivid as a patisserie. Enjoy sipping world-class wines from Lucas & Lewellen Vineyards while traveling through the Panama Canal locks. In Cartagena, Columbia, walk deeply textured alleyways through some of the best-preserved colonial neighborhoods of the Americas and walk along the ramparts of a Spanish castle. When you’re ready for a change, there are beaches glistening in the Caribbean sun. Half Moon Cay is the last stop before returning to the United States. While the Holland America Line is committed to keeping 98% of its pristine private island wild, Half Moon Cay beckons with a day of play on your Bahamas island visit. When disembarking in Fort Lauderdale, many of our guests will stay for an extra night and visit Fort Lauderdale beaches and cafes, stroll the historic riverwalk, shop the luxurious stores on Las Olas Blvd. or venture to the Everglades for an intriguing air boat excursion before heading back home.
