Icon Wines, a case of Cote del Sol and High 9
The reserves of the reserve reds, the best of what we do best, these are Lucas & Lewellen's inimitable "Icon Wines".
Both scoring at a minimum of 90 points, this is the first time these particular offerings have gone on sale.
Goodchild "High 9" Pinot Noir ($35) - We grow this special Clone 667 Pinot Noir on a high 9-acre hill overlooking the Santa Ynez and Santa Maria valleys. The steep access makes for a difficult climb to tend the vines, but this gorgeous, richly perfumed Pinot with "inky accents enriching a savory mix of forest floor and dried red fruit and berry flavors with cedar and cigar box notes leading to a creamy and finely textured finish" is worth the extra effort.
"Cote del Sol" Cabernet Sauvignon ($48) - You know this wine. We talk about it all the time, about the way we select the choicest fruit from the sunny south facing side of a special 22-row slope of old vine Cabernet and co-ferment it with south facing Estrella Clone Syrah from the same vineyard. What we should talk about are its soaring 90-97 pt scores, about the beautiful milk chocolate and black plum jam flavors, and the way this special Cabernet makes any dinner an occasion.
Only $350 for a full case of six bottles each of the 2016 "High 9" and "Cote del Sol", a significant discount plus, through October 31st, we will include freight to any legal state (excluding AK & HI). No substitutions will be made on offerings. After October 31st, these will still be available at this promotional price but freight will not be included.
